On February 20, 2026 during the International Exhibition AGRA in Plovdiv (forum "Old local varieties and breeds. Building a network for their preservation.") association FieldWounds officially presented its vision for a national network for the conservation of local plant varieties and animal breeds.
As described in detail in Nadya Petrova's interview at sinor.bg (published on 24.02.2026):
„"Old varieties should be grown, not kept in freezers." – Dr. Eng. Svetla Nikolova, Agrolink and PoleRani
The article emphasizes the importance of actively propagating and sharing old varieties - from the Silistra compote apricot and the Haskovo pink tomato, through the "Tsar Alexander" apple, to the dozens of forgotten varieties from abandoned gardens.
